What is Coaching?
Coaching is a Co-creative process with “you” the client. I am not an authority figure.
I am an unattached thinking and accountability partner.
I encourage “you” to be yourself, to expand upon any of your “perceived” limitations; to become stronger, a more alive human being; to become more of who “you” are.
Coaching is about listening deeply and responding to “you” the client.
Coaching is offering perspectives, options and suggestions to raise awareness and catalyze your own solutions in order to change your life NOW.
Can you work with both the teens and the parent(s)?
Yes, I can work with the entire family if this something that they feel would be the best way to serve. Each teen and or family has unique circumstances and needs and how I can best serve them will be based on this.
How do you determine this? What is the typical process?
I would first set aside 60-75 minutes to speak with the parent to get clear on what they hope for to get out of the coaching for their teen, 2nd, setting up a time to speak with the teen (60-75 min) then a 3rd conversation with the parent(s) again to share thoughts, setting expectations, etc. Then “we” can determine what is the best way I can serve based on all the information gathered, whether we start the enrollment process, are not a “right” fit, not right timing, referred on, etc.
You are also a trainer. Can you work with my teen doing both?
Yes, I offer training and coaching packages, taking a mind-body approach when it comes to serving you and or your teen.
Do you just work with teens?
No. I can work with the parent(s) and your teen (even if they are not involved in sports) if this is determined to be the best course based on our conversations, and I enjoy working with ALL humans in general!
What do you do if you clearly see that a parent (or both) are clearly the issue and they are not interested in being coached?
Of course, there can be hesitancy and trepidation but if they have a general sense of being open and willing to engage, then we can work together!
If I sense there are closed doors all around I refer them on. The truth is there might be a better fit for them in terms of a coach or therapist or healer that they may be, for whatever reason be more open with.
I only work with families who are really open to the transformational process. If they’re not open to working on themselves, I’ll move on.
